Roskomnadzor has blocked the largest international website for handmade goods. Thought sanctions
Since December 1, I have not been able to get to the site that I often visit. This is the largest site for handmade goods - Etsy.com. There you can find many interesting things and ideas for creativity.
At first I thought it was some kind of sanctions in response to other sanctions. Just what did the playground for needleworkers interfere with?
But with the help of this site, retirees or mothers who sit with children receive additional income
It's no secret that handmade goods in Russia are not as much in demand as in the West, besides, there, for example, knitted mittens, they will buy more expensive than ours.
Then I began to look for the reason for this blocking and how you can still get to this site.
It turned out to be easier to find the answer to the second question. One of the options is to use a VPN, and it also turned out that the mobile version of the site was not blocked - https://m.etsy.com/
I also found an answer to the first question, but I don’t know what to do: laugh or cry.
It turned out that only one page was blocked, by a court decision already in 2019.
The page at this address no longer exists.
But the entire site was blocked.
Judging by the title of the page, it offered copies of Gucha's clothes. Surely this somehow violates the laws of Russia, so the court passed and the page was blocked. And so that for sure the entire site gets under the distribution, and suddenly there is something else "forbidden"
Of course, you can still get to the Etsy site, at least according to the methods proposed above, for sure there are other possibilities, but until you find workarounds, you will fray your nerves.
Thanks for reading. I would be glad to have your support in the form of a like and a subscription to the channel. And see other publications on the channel.
Alexander.
P.S. I also invite you to your site.
