Today at 11 o'clock, as usual on the weekend, I came to our village shop to buy the freshest bread. It is brought to us from the nearest village, where the agricultural firm runs a bakery. If you want hot bread, then you need to come exactly at about 11 o'clock.

The car had already left, I took the bread and listened to what the two women and the salesman were talking about at the counter.

It turns out that an ambulance came to the house this morning, where a dysfunctional family with three children lives in our village. Children are often taken away from them, they are putting in relative order, then the son and daughters are returned. But soon mother and father fall into another binge and at home it becomes bad again. The children are taken away again. This is the kind of horror that happens in the lives of these kids.

At the moment, in the family, just, everything is not so bad. The head of the family, to everyone's surprise, has been working for several months, somehow being kept at the sawmill. And, although there is money for vodka, they do not drink much. The houses are in order, there is food, the children are dressed up. The twin girls go to the correctional school and are picked up by the school bus at the bus stop every morning.

By the way, it is worth mentioning that two buses come to the village - one from the correctional school, the other from the normal one. So, five children go to a correctional school, and two children go to a normal one. This is what drunkenness does to our country, to our future. And our future, as the Soviet slogan says, is our children.

But they discussed not only the state of the family, but the fact that the little boy, he was about 5 years old, was today taken to the intensive care unit, where they were pumped out with difficulty. The reason was that the mother, apparently, was too lazy and did not heat the house, it became cold. Then she lit all 4 burners on the gas stove and began to heat the room with gas. As a result, the boy was severely poisoned. She simply could not wake him up!

I even got scared that the whole family could not wake up. After all, the gas that burns in the burner, when interacting with oxygen, forms carbon dioxide. But when there is not enough oxygen in the room, carbon monoxide is formed, one of the most terrible poisons, having neither taste nor smell, and therefore very dangerous. Its appearance is indicated by the orange color of the flame on the burner.

But carbon dioxide in high concentration is also dangerous, it causes headaches, dizziness, and vomiting. The reason for this is that in the blood cells carbon oxides replace oxygen and the brain receives less oxygen. Therefore, oxygen starvation causes similar symptoms.

In addition, the fire could go out, and the gas would go into the house. Then, flip the switch and blast. Here, no one would have saved not only this family. They live in a semi-detached house, that is, completely innocent neighbors could suffer.

Most likely, the baby was poisoned by carbon monoxide. They say that he was taken to the regional center because our regional hospital does not have the necessary equipment.

Here is such a terrible story, which is quite suitable for fire inspectors as a lecture on the inadmissibility of heating a house with a gas stove. But in our village it really happened.
