Every morning on January 1, my mother-in-law feeds me cold fish. Why is she doing this?

Reade set Go! So the time has started for half-eaten salads, which remain in the morning. Favorite time)) Has everyone already cooked jellied meat and stocked up on caviar? Surely yes, and that's great! But today I decided to share with you one very interesting culinary trick that my mother-in-law starts every year))

Every morning on January 1, my mother-in-law feeds me cold fish. Why is she doing this?

We celebrate in a family circle with parents and children. We usually gather at the mother-in-law's house. And this new year will be no exception. Several years ago, before the holiday, my mother-in-law sent me to the market for fish. Well, at least not for winter fishing in the pond. Then I was surprised and indignant, saying that in the New Year, fish on the table is not needed at all. But whoever is there will be when there is such an abundance around.

But after a while I realized that fish is an excellent solution. Still, my mother-in-law is wise! She cooks the fish on December 31st and hides it.

This is what my mother-in-law does

Every year on December 31, the guys and I... oh... I buy carp for my mother-in-law. Small in size. 1-2 kilograms. She cleans them, washes and collects scales. When I first saw this, I decided that my (then future) mother-in-law was an unusual woman. She said that there is such a tradition - when you cook New Year's carp, you need to collect the scales from it and store it all year round. Then there will be prosperity in the house, and peace and joy in the family.

To be honest, I still don't know if it was a joke or not. Does the mother-in-law keep the scales all year, but she definitely put it in a bag... I wonder if you know anything about such a sign?

Well, that's not the point. Karpov's mother-in-law puts on a baking sheet, sprinkles with salt, covers with a thick layer of sour cream and puts in the oven. Especially for you I asked - 160 degrees until cooked.

As a result, the fish is cooked. And it stays in the oven until morning.

On New Year's morning on January 1, everyone pulls up "breakfast" for lunch, and the mother-in-law treats everyone to whole cold carps. For some reason, she does not warm them. Maybe it's a tradition too)) In general, everyone gets one carp, which must be eaten during the day. Not a single piece should be left.

The first time such an idea seemed to me very strange. Why should I eat fish in the morning?) And in general, I was worried if it was possible to eat fish that had not been refrigerated at night... But very quickly the traditional 1st January carp from my mother-in-law came to my liking. And now I am already looking forward to the morning of January 1 even more than New Year's Eve. Because you want to wake up and gobble up this amazing-tasting carp instead of mayonnaise salads.

It turns out very tasty and magical. And very appropriate in the morning!

Tell us, do you have any interesting traditions in your family, besides watching The Irony of Fate and an explosion of champagne at midnight?
