The main rules for laying floor slabs and what must be done after installation

Hollow core slabs remain one of the most inexpensive ways to add concrete flooring to your home. They are cheaper than a monolithic ceiling, and in terms of characteristics they are much better than wooden ones. Their plus is that they can be immediately loaded, put on them pallets with building blocks or bricks and continue the construction of the second floor. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that you cannot cut an opening in them for access to the attic or under the chimney of the stove.

The main rules for laying floor slabs and what must be done after installation

I designed my house according to the dimensions of the PC series slabs. Their length is a multiple of 10 cm, with a standard width of 1.2 and 1.5 m. Lately, I noticed a series of PB plates. But since in our city they are made 1 m wide - they no longer fit into my project. Plates of the PB series have a large bearing capacity and they have a better geometry (more even). PC is cast in formwork, and PB is cast without formwork by vibrocompression.

What you need to proceed from in order to use these plates in your home. If you have a project where these plates are laid, everything is shown there. How to position them, how to support them. And if you, like me, decided to build a house according to your project?

There are basic requirements for the installation of plates that must be taken into account when designing the size of the house. I have already written about the standard pitch of the PC series plates. PB boards can be cut to any length. By the way, PB can also be cut diagonally (useful for those who want to have a bay window in the house).

The main requirement for laying floor slabs is the zone of their support on the walls. Support length: from 90 mm to 150 mm. Maximum - 200 mm. They only support on two sides. In no case should they be supported on the long side. Floor slabs are a pinched beam. Only a monolithic floor can rest on the walls on all sides, where there are two layers of reinforcement. In slabs - reinforcement only from below (reinforcing mesh above).

I leaned my plates on 150 mm on the armored belt. It left a gap of a couple of millimeters along the long part. Laying of plates is carried out by a crane on a layer of mortar. For its quick application, I used a homemade carriage.

Sometimes reinforcement bars are placed in the mortar under the slabs. Then the plates will lie exactly in one horizontal plane. I did not do this, because. My solution layer was uniform everywhere, and the armo-belt was even.

After the plates are laid, it is necessary to remove the squeezed out solution inside the premises. If this is not done on time, then it will be more difficult to beat it with a hammer.

Next, you need to anchor the plates, tie them together with smooth reinforcement rods with a diameter of 6 mm. And weld the folds. Anchoring scheme.

Anchoring, bonding of plates together is necessary for safety in case of possible seismic activity. The tiles will not move individually. After anchoring, it is necessary to close up the side holes in the slabs and fill the joints between the slabs. And also close up the mounting holes for the hooks (they are not always made and then the plates are mounted with slings).

From the side of the support zones, I insulated the masonry. It turned out such a cake: the plate rests (150 mm), EPS (50 mm), block (200 mm).

The cost of 11 slabs of different lengths for a house size of 8.5x9.3 m in 2020 cost a little more 100 thousand rub. 16 thousand rub. – delivery of plates by two flights and 10 thousand rub. – services of a crane with an assistant.
