And again, the snow showed its power: my ladder was blown off the roof, the neighbor's fence was blocked. Who to blame, the weather or yourself?

How many times I saw on the monitor screen, and then I was convinced live how snow can cause damage to your home (and it's not during some natural disaster).

✅ I went to my site, and already within the limits of gardening I observe such a picture.

The neighbor's fence seemed to be swollen, and I did not immediately understand what was happening. But after considering several factorssnowfalls, thaw, and a steep slope of the roof, right on the fence), everything became clear and logical.

Snow came off the roof, and just filled up the fence ...

✅ A few days later I arrive at my site and also a nuisance ...

roof ladder(with the help of which I laid the metal tile, and did all subsequent work) flew off the roof, along with the snow.

Well, at least the chimney was not captured along the way, it was not in vain that I additionally secured it.

Here in this photo, the stairs are still on the roof, under a layer of snow. And it is on it that he rests (and a little pipe helps 😲😁). No wonder the design failed...

Of course, these cases are not critical, but suggestive for reflection ...

Who is to blame for this situation, bad weather or mistakes and shortcomings in construction? We cannot influence the weather, but the reliability of the structures is our responsibility. And here many will say:

"What to think... snow retainers, in both cases, would have eliminated the problems.

✔ But I doubt something...

• With snow retainers, the mass of snow on the roof increases with each snowfall. And the most dangerous thing is that the limit is not known...
• On snow retainers, no matter how you screw it on, the fasteners weaken and wear out over time. At the same time, for reliable fastening, it is necessary to get not into the crate, but into the rafter leg, which not everyone does, because of the complexity of the process.

And by adding these factors together, you can get much more serious consequences.

I am for free snowfall.

• At the same time, of course, you need to protect yourself and objects that may get in the way.
• Well, snow removal will be added. But for me, it's better than sitting and thinking every thaw, it will vomit everything along with the snow, or not.

And when they tell me that the roof is scratched by snow, I just smile, and I'm afraid to imagine how the roof will be scratched, along which the snow will pass along with the detainers.
