The toilet bowl no longer annoys with its murmur, and the water bill has become much less. Learned an easy way to fix the problem
I'll tell you what to do if the water does not hold in the toilet bowl and how to eliminate the leak and get rid of the constant murmur.
If you're tired of listening to the gurgling water in the toilet every time you go to the toilet, it's time to take action. In addition, a malfunction of the mechanism in the tank leads to additional costs, because the meter records all losses.
We find out the cause of the malfunction
First, remove the lid on the tank by unscrewing the ring on the button on top.
We are not running water yet. We inspect the outlet part of the mechanism and find out that it is functioning normally. It can be seen that the excess water in the tank enters the overflow tube, after which it merges into the toilet.
So, we will look for the problem in the part where the liquid from the water supply enters the tank.
First of all, you need to drain the water, and then remove the inlet fragment of the device. We unscrew the fasteners on both sides and remove the necessary part in order to disassemble it in detail and find out what prevents the mechanism from working properly.
We analyze the water inlet into the toilet bowl
To begin with, we have to get to the rubber elements and find out what condition they are in.
It happens that the deformation of the gaskets or the presence of a layer of dirt on them is the root cause of a continuous leak. We unwind the structure in two and, armed with a screwdriver, remove two parts one after the other.
As expected, there is a coating on the rubber gasket, because there are impurities in the water, albeit in small quantities.
We wash the gasket under running water and, for reliability, boil it for a couple of minutes in some container. We assemble the device in the reverse order, having previously found out that the parts do not have visible signs of wear. Then we will take on the other half of the structure, most likely, there we will find the “root of evil”.
Checking the valve
Disconnect the clip from the stem
and using the same screwdriver, we remove the moving part of the mechanism.
You will need some skill and skill to cope with this stage of work. Now we take out and carefully examine the small gasket. It can be seen that it is deformed, which means that it does not work for overlapping.
You can just turn it over, but since we got down to business with all thoroughness, we will also rinse it and boil it. Well, now the gasket has taken its original shape and is ready for its functional duties.
We collect the entire structure and install it in the tank. We check how well we have done the work. To do this, turn off the tap, fill it with water. We observe whether the liquid from the tank seeps into the toilet. If not, then we are satisfied with the work done.
