Recuperator in the house, with your own hands. I calculated how much money I spent on the entire system (💲sharing the results💲).
Yes, I had attempts to keep tabs on the costs of my entire construction. But somehow at the very beginning, all this came to naught (although now it would be interesting to look at the full report). But the recuperator is a different story:
- Firstly, this is the last work, and at least roughly, you can estimate the costs.
- Secondly, the recuperator was made by hand, with the expectation of some kind of savings.
❗❗❗ So, the conclusions drawn from the results of the work will be incomplete without taking into account the financial side.

Now let's calculate the cost of materials.
✅ Heat exchangers. This is the basis of the entire recovery system, and oddly enough, there were the lowest costs in terms of money.
❗ It took me about 1500 rubles for the foil construction.
In more detail, I already wrote about this in one of the first articles, but this topic. Look at here...
✅ Heat exchanger housing. Here, too, everything is simple:
- EPPS 50mm, furniture board(to strengthen some nodes). All this was on the balance of the penalty, although it is necessary to calculate, because once I paid for them.
4 sheets of EPPS - about 1000 rubles. Furniture shield — 300 r.
- Adhesive foam, sealant.
600 + 600 rubles, respectively.
- Hinges and latches for the lid.
Came out for about 300 rubles.
❗ In total, we get a recuperator box for about 3,000 rubles.
✅ Filters for supply and exhaust.
Only 20 mm EPS was used here, and filter cloth.
500 + 500 rubles.
✅ Fans.
It was not possible to save money here, and for good air exchange I bought two centrifugal fans (for supply and exhaust), 6800 rubles each.
❗ Taking into account wiring, etc., round up to a total of 14,000 rubles.
✅ For a complete picture, consider the cost of ventilation ducts:
It's hard to calculate exactly here. I know for sure that I made the first purchase in the amount of about 20,000 rubles.
Then I handed over a part back to the store, as unnecessary. Then I bought something else.
❗ In general, I propose to stop at the same 20,000 rubles.
What do we get as a result?
In total(taking into account the cost of materials during installation), I spent on the whole ventilation system about 40,000 rubles. At first glance, the amount does not seem small at all. But everything is relative(in our case, with ready-made purchased systems).
Approximately this order of prices is only for the recuperator itself, not counting everything else
Of course, there is some kind of electronics there, for the convenience of control and management. But all this can also be added to my homemade model.
However, it is too early to draw the final line.
For me personally, everything will be clear when I operate my system, at least one winter season, in different conditions. There the real benefit of the recuperator will become visible, some nuances will come out (which will need to be corrected, and accordingly will be spent on this), and in the end the overall picture will be clear.
