They told me: "Do not go into the electrician, this is a matter for specialists." I did not listen, I show what happened.

The thought never gave me rest: "If someone can do it, then why can't I?". This is probably one of the main driving forces in my entire history of building a house with my own hands. And all this despite the fact that many try to drive us into the opposite head...

Whatever stage of my construction I started, and did not describe the whole process, there were always "specialists" who pointed out all my mistakes and shortcomings in my work.

They told me: " Don't go into electrics, this is a matter for specialists." I did not listen, I show what happened.
I am very good at constructive criticism. And many tips (which are pointed out to me not with a desire to poke their nose into a mistake, but justified, in order to help), I take note of, and use in my business.

And at the same time, I am ambivalent about the idea: "If you don't know, don't go." But there are indeed many such people who are professionally engaged in some area, and believe that others are not given it. But in my experience, I have already convinced myself of the opposite many times.

And now it's time to "conquer" electricians.

For me personally, this barrier was the most difficult ...

  • Stories about how serious everything is, and intimidation at the cost of a mistake, inspire some fear. And the cost of the services of specialists hints at the seriousness of the work.
  • At the same time, a lot of terms, trifles, which at first glance, indicate that this work should be started only after several years of study and practice.
But in fact, it turns out that in order to assemble an electrical panel with your own hands, a bachelor's degree is not needed.

βœ… We decide on the accessories. The introductory machine and counter, I have located in a box on the street.

In the "home shield", I decided to put a voltage relay, RCD, and circuit breakers. It seems to me that this is the minimum set of automation for a modern home.

Here, the main efforts were required to study information on the classification of these devices according to various characteristics. And there are a lot of little things here that can radically distinguish two seemingly similar devices from each other.

Types, series, operating voltage, leakage currents, current pickup types, and much more... And the main thing was to choose what is right for my home.

βœ… There are peculiarities of 3 phases. My house is connected to three phases, 15 kW of power, and their use has one main principle - uniformity loads on the phases (the usefulness of the use of all allocated power, the load on automation and wiring).

Therefore, I decided to arrange the devices in the shield, focusing specifically on the phases. I arranged three rows, each of which is a separate phase.

Of course, this complicates the orientation in the shield (for example, sockets from the same room can be on different phases), but it simplifies all connections.

Connecting automation is the most time-consuming process. Here I used stranded wires, but even with their softness, the process was not easy.

This is where experience comes into play. Of course, the specialist already knows all the nuances, and will do the job faster. I had to suffer, but the main thing is the final result ...

βœ… The box is never big. This is one of the main conclusions that I made, but unfortunately after work. Of course it's good when everything is compact and miniature. But from a practical point of view, these are only shortcomings.

  • It is difficult to arrange everything in the shield.
  • It is inconvenient to do wiring.
  • There is no margin for the future (you never know what to add).

So the box "with a margin" solves a lot of problems, both in assembly and in operation.

My end result is this.

The box is in place, everything works, it remains only to bring wiring to it. It turns out there is nothing supernatural here ...
