Sometimes, when installing water pipes, it becomes necessary to make a compensatory loop, sometimes there is a need for a stroke. How to bend an arc.

In general, the reasons that make the master think about how to bend the pipe with an arc are different.

You need to do this in such a way that:

• the pipe was not clamped on the bend line,
• it did not form folds and wrinkles,
• it did not break when bent;
• fixed in the same position, and did not seek to level out, return to its original straight position.

To work, take a piece of pipe a little longer than required. We solder one end with a plug. Fill it with hot water and solder the other end with the same plug. Before bending, it must be warmed up with a building hair dryer.

You can over the gas, but not lowering to the flame. Due to the fact that there is water inside, which will take on some of the heat, the plastic will become soft, but will not melt. Water will also not allow it to be squeezed at the bend, and the pipe, bending, will retain its shape. After bending it, you can fix the fold with a rope (like a bow) and lower it into cold water. The pipe will cool, harden and remain in its new position.

If the bend is arbitrary, you can bend it with your hands. But if a given shape is required, various fixtures will be required.

Bend at an angle

A plastic pipe can be bent at an angle of 90 degrees in the same way, or given a different shape. Instead of water, some craftsmen use sand or salt, but it is more difficult to work with bulk materials. First, sand is poured inside. You can use a funnel for this purpose. True, then the sand can be difficult to remove from the pipe. He is not very willing to sleep out of there. Things will go faster if you wash it under the pressure of water.

If the length of the pipe is not very large, you can insert a metal flexible hose into it. But here, in the process of warming up, it is necessary to periodically move the hose so that it does not solder inside. And, by the way, if there is no factory pipe bender, you can make a device with your own hands that will allow you to fix the heated pipe in the desired position.

We stand the pipe in this fixture until it cools completely so that it hardens and holds the desired shape. Then we pull out a flexible hose from it.

The goals and reasons forcing the craftsmen to bend plastic pipes can be very different. For example, you need to bypass some kind of structure and you need a small, but two-sided fold. We bend the pipe in waves

The boards should be immediately fixed on one screw so that they rotate. First, heating one part of the pipe with a hair dryer, bend it and unfold the fixing plate so that it lies parallel to the base and secure it tightly with a second self-tapping screw. Then heat the second part of the workpiece with a hairdryer and bend it, also unfolding the second latch. When it reaches the desired position, fix the board with a second self-tapping screw. In this position, leave the tube to cool completely.
