What should be put in the hole when planting cucumbers?

When the warm weather has already settled down, it is time to plant cucumbers. A good harvest can be obtained if you follow the useful recommendations from this article.

In practice, there are two ways to plant cucumbers: seeds directly into open ground and through seedlings. But, it should immediately be said that cucumber seedlings are quite sensitive, therefore, when transplanted into open ground, it adapts for a long time.

If the seedling method is chosen, then experienced gardeners recommend using peat pots.
Nutrition is very important at the stage of moving into open ground.

If the plant does not receive nutrients, then in the future this may affect the qualitative and quantitative indicators of the crop.
The most important elements needed for cucumbers are:
Potassium.
Nitrogen.
Phosphorus.
It is noteworthy that the lack of potassium is reflected in the protective properties of the plant.

Signs of potassium deficiency
The first and most obvious sign of potassium deficiency is wilting and yellowing of the leaves. Also, cucumbers, in case of a shortage of this element, suffer from many diseases.

In order to prevent the development of negative consequences, it is recommended to add 1 teaspoon of ammophos and bone meal to each well. You can also use crushed eggshells.

Before sowing, the soil must be shed as well as possible with settled or rain water.
When 10-15 days pass after sowing, it is necessary to make the first top dressing. For this purpose, it is recommended to use a mixture consisting of the following components:

Bor - 15
Urea - 25 g.
Double superphosphate - 20 g.
Potassium sulfate - 15 g.

All components must be combined in one container and pour 10 liters of water. Under each plant you need to pour at least 1 liter of such a solution.

If for some reason it is not possible to use this particular fertilizer, then it can be replaced with humus, peat, eggshells and wood ash.

Additionally, a few leaves of young nettle and dandelion should be added to the prepared solution. Before using the liquid, it is necessary to let the solution brew for several days.

Otherwise, the solution simply will not have the desired positive effect.

Also, experienced gardeners recommend watering the cucumber bed with sodium humate. This fertilizer has a liquid consistency, but it can only be used when the plant has already had 3 to 5 true leaves.
