Every year I spray cabbage with only 1 homemade solution. I forgot about pests, and the harvest became 2 times larger and cabbage is stored all winter
Cabbage is one of the most popular vegetables among Russians. It is easy to grow, does not require special care, it is stored for a long time. And how much can you cook from it! Salads, selyanka, bigus, cabbage rolls, stewed and boiled cabbage, everyone's favorite borscht and cabbage soup, beetroot. It is fermented, salted and pickled, preparing for the winter. It is stored in a cool place, basement, cellar or refrigerator, and is prepared almost fresh until the new year.
But there is one but. Cabbage is very fond of all kinds of insects, especially caterpillars and slugs. What can I say, if you take cabbage in stores, you can even bring cockroaches home.
Therefore, I have long been using one very simple natural remedy, invented and tested back in Soviet times. Forget about various pests forever. Yes, and the taste of cabbage will be much better, and it is stored with such processing and at the same time feeding it a little longer. Time tested! I hasten to share the secret with you.
What do we need
For processing, you need ordinary products that can be found in every home, or they can be purchased at any store. So, just three ingredients:
- water;
- garlic;
- lemon acid.
Garlic solution in general has a number of advantages. It not only drives away various pests with its smell, but is also useful in the prevention of various plant diseases. In addition, garlic enriches the earth with useful substances. It contains a large amount of vitamins, including C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9. As well as calcium and potassium, magnesium and phosphorus, zinc and iron, manganese and other useful trace elements.
And citric acid can revive even the weakest and most withered plants. It stimulates the growth of vegetable crops, enhances all the metabolic processes of plants, and helps to absorb nutrients from the soil.
How to handle
Boil 1 liter (4 full glasses) of water. Crush or pass through a press 4-5 cloves of garlic, add. And throw in a sachet of citric acid. Small bags are usually sold in 10 grams. If you have a large package of acid, pour 2 tsp. l. without a slide.
Mix everything thoroughly and leave to infuse under a closed lid. Approximate time - from 1 to 2 days.
Strain the solution so that no garlic particles remain. They can "clog" the spray gun. Pour liquid into it and spray directly on the cabbage, as well as under the root.
In principle, you can not filter the liquid. Usually garlic settles to the bottom after settling. I collect the upper liquid in the sprayer and process the plants. And what is left, with pieces of garlic, I pour it under the root.
Results
It is best to spray the plants in the evening. About once every five to seven days. You can start completely with young plants, when the head of cabbage has not yet taken shape. And you will see results almost immediately.
For young seedlings 500 ml. enough liquid for 100 bushes. For already formed cabbage, ten to twenty bushes, if you just started doing it. If you initially sprayed with this agent, then by the end of the design of heads of cabbage, a liter will be enough for 2-3 procedures.
Well, if you save. I didn’t even think about it, I just do it for a long time and automatically. And no one has ever eaten my favorite cabbage for a long time. And it really grows much better than untreated. And it can be stored longer, probably due to the fact that a strong one has formed.
