Those who have attached a skirting board to the ceiling at least once in their lives know how difficult it is to cut it correctly at the corners. Moreover, both internally and externally. The joint should be smooth, neat, which is often not the first time. Today I will tell you one secret of how to quickly and easily cut a ceiling plinth at an angle.

What do we needatetsya

No special tools are needed to cut the ceiling plinth. It is enough to have:

a sharp clerical knife;

wooden or plastic triangle (ruler);

· pencil.

And of course, the ceiling plinth itself. And it's better to work in a makeshift corner - not at all on the ceiling, but simply by putting a couple of boxes together to create an inner corner, and one box for an outer

Trim inside corner

In an improvised corner, we draw a median line using a triangle. It is not necessary to make it long, 5-6 cm is enough. If there is no triangle, in extreme cases, you can use the usual ruler. The main thing is to draw a straight line at an angle of 45 degrees.

We put the plinth into a corner and from above, focusing on the line, we make a through cut. The knife should go straight, not falling from side to side.

We do the same with the second plinth, on the other hand. You can help yourself in advance by marking the cut line with a pencil.

You can do this immediately on the ceiling, it is enough to draw the line correctly. But then it is inconvenient to clean it on a light ceiling, and it is more difficult to work on weight.

First result

It can be seen that the angle turned out to be clear and correct. Considering that we did not use any special tools, but only a simple clerical knife, the result is perfect.

Trim outside corner

We also draw a line from the corner. At the same time, special accuracy is not needed here, as in the case of an internal angle. The line should conditionally divide the corner in half and serve as a guide in order to correctly connect the edges of the plinth.

We extend the first strip to the line and again, focusing on the drawn line, we make a cut. We hold the knife strictly vertically. In the same way, we apply and cut the second plinth.

Second result

Trimming the outer corner is a little more difficult than the inner one. But in any case, the connection when combined will be smooth.

Using this method, you can cut corners with any turn, even if they are not 90 degrees, but more or less. The joint will always be straight. I hope my tips will help you when it comes time to work with the baseboard and make your job easier.
