Dry twigs on the bush currant. Protect it from sesiidae
One of the main dangerous pests currants - it sesiidae. Damages as a red and black currants. Hosts and other berry bushes: raspberry, gooseberry. How to deal with sesiidae?
Features pest
The pest lays its eggs under the bark of the branches, then larvae make moves within the shoots. Therefore, the sap flow to these parts of the plant is stopped, and they begin to dry up.
The larvae remain in the branches and in the winter, and live in the branches of 2 years, and then formed sesiidae from pupa to adult insect gnaws hole and flies out.
Branches dry out completely blindfolded berries or flowers, leaves. They need to be completely removed to the ground (or cut down use shears) after flowering until the pupa insects phase still in the withered branch of the spring (they depart from it in June and July). Again, lay their eggs on the plant under the bark of shoots.
All cut branches to be burned, so as not to give the opportunity to get out of sesiidae remote shoots. When shrunken cut branches on the side can be seen the core of withered brown.
The following year, you will not wither one but several branches, and in the end, if you do not fight sesiidae, will dry bush fully.
Of insecticide malathion can sprinkle the branches, but the effect is small, because you do not know when released on the bush insect, and under the bark of any drug it can overcome, and the hot water in the early spring is not will help. At the same time, chances are you'll never see.
Thus, the main way to combat this insect pest - is shrunken pruning branches to the base and further combustion shoots.
