Bath (divided into two rooms
I own a small country house, on a plot of eight acres. A few years ago, I built a bath of aspen log. Since I have enough experience in the construction and decoration of Russian baths, the material seemed to me a good alternative to the same, ever-flowing resin pine, although a small difference in price. In addition, aspen does not retain moisture in the room and lends itself well to decorating. Bath itself has a classical form of ordinary Russian bath with hallway and steam, without any frills. Just outside the bath is a square construction of the grinding aspen log with gable roof of metallotserepitsy.
Sex in the bath, around the perimeter is finished decking of larch wood flooring and the ceiling is decorated with pine paneling, as well in both indoor baths. The furnace in the steam room was very ordinary, wood-burning masonry. But the heat remained very poor, steam, just as quickly disappears. I realized that the problem was in the device insulation of heat and steam, and then I decided to completely redo the steam room, dividing it into two rooms, the sauna and shower.
The first thing I made out an old, dilapidated canopy of linden planks and an old oven. He built a wooden partition separating bath for two rooms, leaving a doorway in the middle of the resulting wall. Shower itself in a solid insulation is not needed, so I left the walls and the ceiling in the shower in its previous form. Especially, finishing materials are well preserved for several years.
And in the steam room, I had to completely disassemble the ceiling finish, leaving only the rough board. At first I was completely insulate the ceiling and walls in the steam room using basalt wool. To do this, I needed to set the vertical beams on the perimeter of the room to form a special niche, which I filled with insulation. On top of the heater, I fixed the aluminum foil roll, in order to avoid heat loss during operation of the future saunas. On top of the foil beam I set in the horizontal direction, which served as a basis for subsequent finishing. The base for the walls and ceiling was ready.
For finishing zone of the furnace, a sturdy base is also required. Here, I use steklomagnezitovy sheet which is very cheap and practical material withstanding high temperatures and does not release harmful substances to the body when heated.
A ventilation future saunas, I held a special corrugation, mount it on the inner side of the headliner.
The walls and ceiling in the sauna, I escaped with combining Altai and Cedar (photo 2.3 and photo 2.5). Altai cedar has properties to clean the air, it is extremely durable and resistant to moisture. A Canadian cedar, in addition to resistance to moisture, has a pleasant flavor and dark color. This combination, it seemed to me the best solution. I assembled the canopy, as well from the Altai and Cedar adding elelenty scenery.
oven zone was finished tile from kaolin clay, resistant to high temperatures, in common called terracotta.
The furnace was selected electric, with a good laying of the stone, and around the stove, I mounted a special wooden fence.
The door to the sauna I chose glass because it is more durable, unlike wood, with careful operation.
For finishing, I needed a jig saw, a screwdriver and a miter saw, and she finish took only eight days. Now I have a sauna, which I get, both physical and aesthetic pleasure.
