Chlorosis in hydrangeas. Grandma's way of fighting!
Chlorosis in hydrangeas - what is it? This disease is not a pleasant one for the flower. The leaves begin to turn yellow, covered with spots, the leaves curl and become shallow, the buds do not want to develop. But leaf yellowing can occur for other reasons as lack of fertilizers and their overabundance, especially if put fresh manure or soil acidic enough, the drought. And you should have it in mind. But if you have confidence that you will take good care of the flower, then most likely, it is a disease called chlorosis.
Signs of chlorosis in hydrangeas
The leaves of hydrangea are light yellow, light green color slightly. And they themselves veins remain green. This is clearly chlorosis.
In what may be the cause of the disease? This may be an alkaline environment because hydrangeas like acidic soil. If the plant is watered with cold water or temperature extremes outside sharp, it also carries the disease. Hortense reduced immunity, and it starts to hurt. The plant is less able to absorb nutrients from the soil, including iron and magnesium, the leaf blade is lighter.
How to help a flower
Use the following guidelines. Purchase a gardening store in preparations with iron or means "Antihloroz".
But you can prepare your own means.
We need to take citric acid and iron sulphate, and a liter of warm boiled water. Dilute pineapple (1.5 teaspoon - is 4 g) in water. Stir the acid dissolved. Then add a little less than half a teaspoon (2.5g) of ferrous sulfate. Stir to dissolve. The result was a working solution. For one plant requires 4-5 liters of this mixture. Watering at the roots 2 times, at intervals of 3 days.
At 10 liters. 40 g citric acid + iron sulphate 25 g.
20 l. 80 g citric acid + iron sulphate 50 g.
For the prevention of my grandmother dug under the bushes iron banks, so the soil is compensated with iron.
