The easiest way to determine the acidity of the soil
So it was the fall, which brings with it a new piece of work at the site, such as harvesting, digging and soil fertilization. In addition, once in 2-3 years, the soil should be abundantly deoxidize as acidic soil loves little plants in the garden.
But if you deoxidize the soil is determined by a simple need, but effective way. Of course, we could use a special litmus test, but not everyone will find litmus at his dacha, so this option dismisses.

For this you need a handful of earth from the site and the 3-4 leaf of black currant. Heat the beaker of water and "brew" currant, then go to sleep and leaves We reach the ground directly to the water.
Then carefully look at the color of the water, it will play the role of a litmus test:
- blue water - means your soil is alkaline;
- green - the soil is neutral, and it is not necessary to deoxidize;
- pink - a color indicates the average acidity of the soil;
- red - strongly acidified soil, the soil is better to limp in this year;
This way I've personally checked the test a couple of days ago and got a pink color. But 5-6 years ago, I did not trust this method and tested by litmus paper. But the result is the same, so is the third year I use a method with blackcurrant because of its simplicity.
Tell me in the comments how you determine the acidity of the soil at the site.
