Two ways to drill a vertical hole with a drill. Test results and conclusions.
I propose to consider the two quite well-known method to drill drill holes vertically. I have at various times used both ways, but never compared. Here I suggest such a comparison.
The process first. Testing.
The first method is to drill with a support on two sides with angles of 90 degrees.
The simplest use for the two bars with the correct geometry.
Hole after drilling tested from both sides of the drill bit inserted into it. Acceptable results.
The second method. Testing.
The second method of drilling vertical holes with a mirror. It is necessary when drilling to ensure that the reflection of the drill and the drill itself is located on the same line.
It turned out to drill with small deviations.
As an alternative, the mirror tried to use an old computer disk.
The disk is seen worse and worse results are obtained.
And I tried to drill "by eye".
The result is quite predictable. The deviation is quite significant.
Conclusions.
In order to rapidly and with a good result to drill a vertical hole tools and without any special adaptations bars sufficiently couples with angles of 90 degrees.
Perhaps the mirror, too, will be effective only in the mirror, it is desirable to have an opening for better control, and this method requires some skill.
To complete the picture I suggest a video clip where you can see it is fully tested.
