How to make a simple engine yourself

Hello dear guests and subscribers of my channel. Today I want to share with you the simplest homemade product that you can do with your child, have a great time and, perhaps, interest him in studying such a science as physics. So, let's begin.

Preparation for work

So, before we proceed with the direct assembly of a home-made electric motor, we need to prepare a minimum set of tools and accessories. So, we need:

1. Finger battery - 1 pc.
2. A pair of large paper clips. If they are not there, then a piece of copper wire in varnish insulation and a piece of copper wire without insulation, both 20 centimeters each.
3. A pair of magnets. Absolutely any will do. I decided to build a motor with neodymium magnets.
4. In addition, prepare scissors, tape, or duct tape.

So, everything is ready for assembly. Now we sit down more comfortably, put your child next to us and proceed with the assembly.

We collect the simplest electric motor

So, first of all, we form a small coil. To do this, we take a prepared wire with a varnished coating and wind it from 10 to 15 turns, if you have a core with a thickness of 1.5 square millimeters. If it is thicker, then we make fewer turns.

In order to get a neat reel, you can use the same finger battery as a winding drum. So, you should end up with something like this:

Further, the conclusions should be carefully cleaned of the varnish coating. To do this, take a knife and carefully clean the vein.

That's it, our reel is completely ready. As the saying goes, the most important part of the job is done successfully. Now we take the already bare wire and form the structure, as shown in the picture below.

Now we attach the resulting mini "bedside tables" to the poles of the battery:

That's it, we are literally at the finish line, now it remains to place the previously assembled coil into a structure assembled from another piece of wire like this:

And then just place a magnet under the coil. Next, we give the coil a rotational impulse. Everything should work great for you.

I did everything, but nothing works for me

So, if you have done everything, but your engine does not treacherously work, then you should carefully study the following nuances:

1. Check how firmly the stands are pressed against the battery. Perhaps there is simply no contact in the circuit.
2. Also check how well the leads of our coil are cleaned. They must be completely free of varnish.
3. Perhaps there is not enough "strength" of the magnet, add one more and everything should work.

Attention. During the operation of the simplest electric motor, the battery can get quite hot. Therefore, in order not to get burned or unpleasant sensations, first remove the coil and let the structure cool down, and only then take the rest of it in your hands.
