A simple but useful scratchbuild of the sewer pipe. Tube electrode
Recently seen from a friend an interesting home-made - a tube for storage of electrodes made of a conventional sewer pipe. tube design is very simple and convenient, but because of its tightness, the electrodes are not exposed to the environment and not syreyut.
I really liked the idea, because there were times when you open a new pack, are using a pair of electrodes, and the rest and leave stored in the pack somewhere on a shelf in a shop. After a few months to get these electrodes, and they are raw and unfit for use. Therefore, I decided to make a home-made this useful, making small changes in its structure.
For this homemade we need only three things: the sewer pipe diameter of 50 mm and the two plugs to it. One plug will provide the bottom of the tube, and the second - a lid.
The first thing to do layout and cut a piece of pipe to length. For a flat layout, you can use masking tape or a small scrap of the same pipe to be cut lengthwise and just put on top.
When the marking is applied, take a grinder or metal saw and cut off a piece of pipe with the pipe length of 38 - 40 cm.
Then grind sandpaper edge of the pipe to remove all burrs.
Now you need to make the bottom of the tube, and I decided to do it from the plug. Since the pipe and plug have the same diameter make it difficult, but there is a solution.
To insert the plug into the tube, I made a small hacksaw slot circle. slits of about 1 cm length.
Due to the slots, plug edge slightly folded and it can be inserted into the pipe, but not completely. To cap it came fully and without effort, need a bit of heat pipe (building dryer or on plates) and then it can be easily pressed by hand. In this way, the pipe will expand slightly and a cap sits very tight.
On the second cap I drilled a hole in the middle and screw the wing to make it easier to open the lid, and that tube can be hung, tied a rope under the bell. That's all, some 15 - 20 minutes, and reliable tube for storage of electrodes and other things that need to be protected from moisture, ready!
