As I made a wooden plane. First experience. Part 1

It was really the first experience in the manufacture of wooden planer and certainly not without mistakes, but the result is pretty good in my opinion.

In the manufacture of the planer I relied on the old plane, inherited from father to me.

Some angles and dimensions I took this planer, and some found on the Internet.

Block planer I decided to do from different parts and then glue them.

For the central part of picked beech dosochki pads. She did the layout angles. Angle glands planer spaced by 45 degrees, the second angle is made 70 degrees - the information found on the Internet. Dosochki itself has a thickness of glands width.

He saw off the angles on the bandsaw, although it was on a circular saw, using the angle stop. This emphasis can be seen in this article.

Surface wedges later polished on a belt sander.

In the old planer front wedge has a straight section. Here, I did well.

Further on the flat exposed surfaces, the two wedge clamps gave them and glued on both sides dosochki two 10 mm thick. Material Manchurian nut.
