Errors roof vapor barrier which allows every second
Hello!
HAvidan set of common errors in setting up the roof, he decided to write a small material which would summarize all these textbook errors and to learn how to do all builders the mind.
Pon my calculations, every second independent builder allows one of these mistakes. Some of them - fatal, and some - is dangerous only in the distant future.
Some theory ...
The foundation is insulated roof "roofing pie". It consists of three layers:
- waterproofing
- insulation
- steam.
None of these layers can not be ruled out, and an error in at least one of them nullify all your efforts on warming the roof!
Common mistakes vapor barrier
Vapor barrier - a barrier, not giving water vapor from the premises to get into the insulation.
Paroizolyatsiya sold in the form of webs rolled into rolls, which are mounted directly on the heater, close to it.
ANDznutri "roofing pie" closes the inner lining (clapboard, plasterboard).
Note:
The air gap between vapor barrier and the lining should be at least 4-5 centimeters!
Why make an air gap between the insulation and a vapor barrier?
The need in the air gap due to the fact that the warm moist vapors condense out of the room on the vapor barrier. If the sheathing is mounted quite a vapor barrier, it will rot.
The second mistake - steam "sophisticated" form of the roof.
Under the latter refers to the vent pipes, chimneys, antenna output, roof and regular window.
Remember:
and tunneling all nodes contiguity must be airtight to prevent convective transport of humid air from the room.
- Do not allow "open" places where vapor barrier does not cover the heater;
- Avoid folds vapor barrier material - they will drain the condensate and linger and spread of mold.
The third mistake - laying a vapor barrier to the "rounding of the rafters."
In this case, the moist air of the room may get into a crack between the vapor barrier and the rafter, and the condensate falls on the tree. The result of this you know - rotting wood and the loss of the bearing capacity of truss system.
Exit:
Vapor barrier should be installed without sagging, slightly vnatyag otherwise qualitatively glue joints impossible. It is also worth further secure place gluing two sheets of vapor barrier clamping rails.
