Do not rush to throw out the broken roulette. Simple repair their own hands
1. Not so long ago bought a comfortable 5 m roulette:
Nice rubberized plastic, does not slip in your hand. But at one point he made a sound scrolling inner spring and has ceased to tighten the tape back. The fault has been immediately obvious. But it was interesting - spring burst itself or something else happened?
To understand - no damage plastic. A spring inside the coil when winding force is created. Hence, it is a whole.
It turned out that this place, this is the fly in the coil spring. I insert it into the slot. But that would create a force retracting measuring tape - you spin the reels in the tape exit direction. I did about five turns that would appear sufficient retraction force. I collected - it worked like new.
2. I've got another gift to Roulette 3m from one building shop, "battle" - participated in many operations and construction works. But old age could not resist pressing the plastic tape:
Roulette on the release? Not. I decided to restore it's this way:
We need: tools, super glue, nail dozen or cut the iron rod and not stalistogo baking soda.
Bit off pliers rod segment (caught with mild steel, softer than that of the nail). Glue Superglue and these places sprinkle baking soda. It turns solid connection, such as plastic. It is often difficult in a way stuck failure.
The result here is a result. But it turned out that this axis prevents the measuring tape back loose curl (by clicking on the black clip). I had to redo it.
He produced a curved axis. And just stuck on this two-component "super glue + soda." And to fix the spring on this structure - that would not fly in because lock turned slightly elevated.
Collected roulette. Still I had to stick section of insulation from the wire for best contact pressure of the measuring tape to the body.
Here is a repair in 30 minutes that could throw. And so, still serve.
