Since childhood, I remember that he always used rubber hoses (the other was not there). They are not deformed, almost always retain their shape. But they had one big drawback: rubber grew old and cracked. Hose leaks, and they are often enough only for 3-4 seasons.

That would extend their service life, the bay had to keep in positive temperatures, underground potatoes. In addition, it is believed that the rubber - a toxic material and water flowing through the hose can not be used as drinking water.

Now there are a lot of different new materials, which were used in the manufacture of hoses.

A couple of seasons ago, I bought two of these bays of 25 m:

PVC hose reinforced for irrigation. One used to be connected through the coupling to garden hose neighbor, who has already been pumped well with clean water. The second is not needed, the length suffice, because I used some of the neighbor hose.

When buying, I thought that the hose is not crumbling from old age, and even reinforced - and I thought he was in operation will be very convenient and eternal. Yes, it is very convenient to use, but if you have to deal with water having a temperature above 20 degrees. Below - it starts "dubet".

The touch - like a rubber. The characteristics - five-layer. PVC is used, but do not know in what layer. And obviously it there a little bit. For the price - twice the price of PVC hose. But it's worth it to overpay.

The most important thing in my case - it does not dubeet from the cold water. Even if it is bent immediately turned off the pump, it is easy to tolerate such strain:

Silicone or PVC hose and deformed to the original form would have not accepted.

Unfortunately, such details can only be understood in the process of working with different hose materials. In the store they are soft and clear answer to your question sellers will not give, only in the framework of applications manufacturers.
