After such a renovation, the sofa is like new

I had to fix the sofa the other day. The children saw a trampoline in it and practiced jumping properly. But it's not even about children. A similar breakdown is typical for sofas in the middle price category. The spring has sagged - write "lost". It is impossible to rest - the dream is broken and the back then hurts, as after a fight. It takes no more than an hour to fix the defect. Go.

Over time, a "failure" appears on the couch. Poorly visible in the photo. But if you sit down, it feels like you flopped down on the beach in a hammock.

But on the lower side, the failed springs cannot be confused with anything.

One of them even broke through the fabric and "asked" out. To restore the original look, remove the upholstery.

Most often, the fabric is secured around the perimeter with a stapler. It is enough to pull out some of the staples and unscrew the edge of the upholstery.

My casing is a cover. Unbuttoned the lock, removed the fabric - ready.

As it turned out, the children had knocked out five springs. They are attached to the beam, which we see in the photo, from the back side. We turn off the edge of the foam rubber and get access to the brackets.

It is the brackets that become the weak link in this story. They break, so you need to look for a replacement. At my fingertips were the remains of drywall fixing hangers. Cut into pieces, bent in half - the bracket is ready.

We push the bracket under the timber. We bend the foam rubber so that the screws can be tightened - we fix the spring.

We use "yellow" screws. Red-hot "black" will not work. Why it is worth choosing them, I told in more detail in the article about screwdrivers and screws.

All springs are in place. We pull the foam rubber in place, fasten the upholstery and again you can relax on the sofa. Sound, healthy sleep is guaranteed.
