I insulate the box when installing a street door. I don’t understand why not do it at the factory?

Doing this work for the first time, you can miss this important point. But by some miracle, I didn't make a mistake.

I already wrote about how I secured the door to the aerated concrete walls (can you read here). But there were other nuances in this work, which are a wonder for a beginner in construction.

And the most incomprehensible for me was the issue of door insulation.

Or rather her boxes.

In general, putting the front door without a vestibule (like mine), you need to be confident in its energy saving capabilities. But that confidence grows as the price tag increases.

And I did not bet on one door, but decided to put first the outer and then the inner (all in one opening), which should work on the principle of a cold vestibule, that is, make a gap between the heat inside and the cold outside.

In this case, you do not need to take a very expensive door, but the "foil" is also not worth it... I took something in between (as it seems to me), for 12,000 rubles.

❗ And maybe that's the whole point, but in it I was faced with a misunderstanding in the issue of door frame insulation.

The door itself is insulated (should be at least), but why is there no box ???

You at least put some kind of insulation, included, I'll stick it myself (although it may be done in more expensive models), so no, you need to invent something yourself ...

At first I tried to solve the issue with some styrofoam pieces.

But it was so inconvenient and so clumsy it turned out that after a couple of pieces, I abandoned this business.

And I decided to just fill up the entire space.

In my opinion, this will fill all the voids as much as possible, although the foam goes away decently ...

The main thing is that if the door is already in the opening, then it’s so good, you won’t fool all the "nooks".

After that, after waiting a little, I already began to mount the door into the opening. because there is no point in waiting until she is fully up.

And it's strangethat I myself have to think of all this. At least they left some instructions.

Of course, we can say that there is nothing to climb, since you do not know the nuances. But for me, this is not a nuance of installation, but simply an undersize of parts.

But the main thing is that I did not pass by ...
