Protection of the assembly seam with a special sealant. I show the process with all the nuances.
Yellow and ugly foam, flaunts on most houses under construction. I decided not to wait long and get rid of this "beauty". Moreover, there is a special tool.
In one of the previous articles, on my channel, I wrote that I came across an interesting means of protecting the assembly seam from the effects of the external environment.
Now, you need to consider all the nuances of working with this sealant.
According to the instructions, it must be mixed.
I tried it of course, but it is absolutely uniform and thick, like a normal sealant.
Prepare the surface before applying.
- First, I cut off the excess foam.
- Then he primed the surface of aerated concrete for better adhesion of the sealant. It turned out to be much more convenient to do this from a sprayer than with a roller or brush.
Then masking tape was used.
- It is not important how the sealant spreads over the wall, the main thing is to protect the frame itself.
And then we apply the sealant.
There were two tasks for me:
- Apply a more or less reliable layer (according to the instructions from 2 mm).
- And to do it economically, so that one bucket is enough for all windows.
I more or less coped with the first task, but the second did not work.
A little bit was not enough for evil, and I had to buy a whole bucket, literally for two small windows. It's a shame ...
✅ It is interesting that in places where a thick layer has turned out, after the sealant is set (and this several hours), it remains soft inside. And after a day, and a week and still, I don't know if so be it ...
Otherwise, everything worked out great, and all the work took one day off.
There are only seven windows, and now all are protected from rain and UV, and the view is decent, it is not yet close to finishing ...
