How to protect yourself from mosquitoes in nature if you forgot a spray (aerosol)?

With the onset of summer, many of us go on vacation to nature. Whether it is fishing, hunting or a regular hike, you will be mercilessly attacked everywhere by insatiable mosquitoes. Yes, these little villains know how to ruin our vacation! You might say, "What prevents you from protecting yourself from mosquitoes with some inexpensive spray or aerosol?" I completely agree, but I'm just sure that each of us, at least once in our life, had such a situation, when we came to nature and it turned out that we simply forgot to take with us the remedy for mosquitoes. But even if you did not forget to do this, such funds can protect against mosquitoes for a maximum of a couple of hours, and as a result, your aerosol supplies may simply not be enough.

Today I will show you 2 simple but effective ways to protect yourself from mosquitoes.that nature itself will provide us. I learned about these jaeger methods a couple of years ago and they have already helped me out!

1. For the first way we need to find an anthill, I think it will not be difficult to cope with this task in nature.

We will not need the ants themselves, but their waste product, namely formic acid. Probably for many it was a delicacy in childhood, remember, we inserted sticks into anthills and then licked them, they had a pleasant sour taste. This time we will need to get a lot more of this product and therefore we will need a piece of some rag, which it is advisable to moisten a little with water (you can take a dry cloth, but a wet one is better saturated with an ant acid).

Now we have to disturb the forest dwellers a little. We put the rag directly on the anthill and leave it for 5 - 10 minutes, then turn it over to the other side and wait the same amount of time.

In this way, the rag is well saturated with formic acid, which has a very pungent peculiar smell. Mosquitoes hate this smell! Now do not forget to shake off the little workaholic from the rag and wipe all open areas of the body (arms, legs, neck, face) with it, but before that you need to check if you are allergic to formic acid. This can be done by applying formic acid to a delicate part of the body, such as the bend of the elbow.

rub all open areas of the body with formic acid

Formic acid is long-lasting and can protect against mosquitoes all day, but if you are allergic to it, then you better not use this method. But don't worry because there is another way!

2. Second way is also simple and for it we need a mushroom that grows on trees, I think many of you have seen such. This mushroom is called tinder fungus. Finding him in the forest is not a problem, and most often he settles on birches.

When the tinder fungus is found, take a knife and cut the mushroom into thin slices, like bread.

Now the resulting pieces need to be set on fire. They will not burn, but will slowly smolder. As you understand, this method is analogous to purchased mosquito spirals, only unlike them, the tinder fungus is completely harmless. This method is more effective indoors or in tents, but it also works outdoors, as long as you have to put not one, but several of these smoking pieces around you.
