Which is better - a country house or an apartment in the city?

Over the years of my work, I managed to arrange interior In many country cottages and in urban apartments. I think you understand that the arrangement country house takes more time and money. This is due to the fact that construction and design cottage starts from scratch. However, even for apartment renovation many pitfalls can arise. So which is better Vacation home or apartment? I made up 7 important, in my opinion, the differences between cottages and city apartments, which will allow you to make the right choice.

1. Communications. I noticed that local engineering systems are mainly used in country cottages. This allows home owners to freely organize the location of the bathrooms. So, for example, if the owners organize their own communication system, they may not worry about the seasonal cuts in water supply, which are so often encountered by apartment residents.

2. Electricity. In a private house, you will most likely have to use more durable and expensive power cables.

3. Heating. In a private home, people have a choice between wood, gas or electric heating. Another advantage is that the owners of country cottages are not tied to the heating shutdown system and can regulate the heat supply on their own.

4. Organization of planning. When decorating country houses, it is much easier for designers, including me, to delimit living space. The apartment has much less room for interior decoration.

5. Equipment. For the arrangement of the types of premises under consideration, designers use various materials. For example, for leveling walls in a private house, I use only dry finishes to avoid possible moisture. In the apartment, however, it is allowed to use a more affordable material - plaster.

6. Design. Only in a private house can you organize a real fireplace. In the apartment, you are only allowed to equip the fireplace area with decorative electrical materials (if the location of the fireplace or stove is not determined by the design of the house, as in the old fund for example) In a private cottage, you can also organize a winter garden or your own greenhouse.

7. Ecology. And of course, the main difference between private houses, in my opinion, is ecology. I think you yourself understand that the ecology outside the city is much better than in the megalopolis.

When choosing between a country house and an apartment, I recommend understanding what is more important to you. If you prefer movement and activity, choose a city apartment. If you like a moderate lifestyle, choose a private house. And don't forget about the main differences that I described in this article.
