Perhaps the best folk dressing of tomato seedlings without harmful chemicals. Grow healthy Tomatoes to the envy of all your neighbors
The quality of tomato seedlings depends on the timely satisfaction of all physiological needs of young plants. For this purpose, use root and foliar dressing.
You can use ready-made fertilizers, but it is best to prepare them at home.
When to fertilize
1. Initially, the plant uses seed reserves, but since the growth rate of tomatoes is very high, these substances are not enough.
2. The first time young plants are fed after the appearance of the first pair of true leaves.
3. The next procedure is carried out two weeks after the pick. The last feeding is done two days before planting the plants in the soil.
4. The need for fertilization can be determined by the appearance of the plant. The purple tint of the stem and the underside of the leaves indicates a lack of phosphorus.
5. Too bright streaks indicate an iron deficiency.
6. Yellowing and dropping of the lower leaves indicates excessive watering or lack of nitrogen.
Fertilizer for seedlings at home
Yeast feeding. For 10 liters of warm water I give 4 tbsp. l sugar and 10 g of yeast. The mixture should be infused for at least six hours. I dilute the fertilizer with water in a ratio of 1:10. I put it at the root. This top dressing will enrich the soil and improve the soil structure.
Wood ash. For 2 liters of water I give a tablespoon of the substance and insist for about a day. If you use ash obtained from wood, then the fertilizer will contain calcium. Ash obtained from burning straw or grass contains potassium, which reduces the acidity of the soil.
Iodine. This trace element accelerates the development of seedlings, and promotes an early harvest. To feed young tomatoes, it is enough to dilute 5 ml of iodine in a bucket of water and water the plants.
Urea. I apply this fertilizer after planting tomatoes in the garden. Urea dissolves in water, and their calculations are made 20 g of substance per 1 m2.
Foliar dressing. I dissolve 1 g of boric acid in 1 liter of hot water. This method is applied before the buds appear. You can also process bushes along with green fruits.
1 plant should get about 10 ml of solution. Thanks to the treatment with boric acid, more fruits are formed on the bush.
Also, the fruits acquire a sweeter taste, and the plant becomes resistant to diseases and pests.
You can also apply organic matter under the bush, but this applies to plants planted in open ground. Only mineral fertilizers should be used in the greenhouse.
