How to make a thread on a polypropylene pipe if there is no coupling at hand. A non-standard but effective solution to the problem.
Sometimes unforeseen situations force us to look for non-standard solutions to the problem.
So I had to experiment when, when installing the water supply system in the country, it turned out that one combination outer sleeve is missing.
The fact is that the store mistakenly put a coupling on a pipe with a diameter of 25, and I need 20.
ABOUTstand without waterwhen almost everything has already been done, I didn't want to.
As evil, there was no hardware store nearby, and the neighbors did not have an extra coupling.
Then he approached the solution of the problem outside the box. What came of this, we will consider below.
I had to dock a polypropylene pipe with a ball valve.
Since the clutch was not at hand, decided to try to make a thread directly on the pipe itself.
For this I used a welding machine for plastic pipes.
Put the end of the polypropylene pipe into the welding machine and kept him inside about 3 seconds for softening plastic.
Then immediately began to carefully wind the ball valve onto the end of the polypropylene pipe.
Important! To get a good thread, you need to screw the valve onto the pipe from the very beginning.
Then waited for the connection to cool and with ease twisted the cock off polypropylene pipe.
Surprisingly good enough thread, so I decided that she will quite cope with her task.
He completed the installation by sealing the resulting thread with fum tape and installing a ball valve.
At first glance, the connection turned out to be reliable, although it is not yet known how it will behave in the future.
As they say: "The need for invention is cunning."
