Favorite character. Why Ravshan and Dzhamshut became an unofficial symbol of guest workers

The collective psychology of our society is arranged in such a way that when movie heroes appear on television screens, we project their images onto ourselves or others.

I remember being impressed by the first Chinese action films about Shaolin Monastery that were shown on TV and in the local cinema. I wanted to repeat everything, take a chucky, a stick. But this is a fragile child's psyche - any image can be introduced into it.

The principle works now and for adults. Many watched at least part of the humorous series "Our Russia" about Ravshan and Dzhamshut. Such "Charming psychopaths". Funny and curious moments based on the unprofessionalism of masters from Central Asia. This image and even phrases from the series stuck to the term guest worker and became a household name.

A shot from the series. The role of Ravshan was played by actor Mikhail Galustyan, and Dzhamshuta - by Valery Magdyash.

On hearing catch phrases from the series: “Why collapse, nasyalnika”, “Ravshan to lay tiles”.

Any ridicule is etched into memory as an image. With a negative bias, it is more memorable. And since guest workers did not have any vivid image on TV, the series "Our Russia" occupied this niche in its time, postponing the association in these images and movie heroes.

What is this in all this - a simple reader will say!? And if you dig deeper into the essence of this. I'll start with this question: was it possible during the Soviet era something similar that the inhabitants of one of the allied republics (Tajikistan - on the TV series) so, one might say, comically and even humiliatingly showed on television? Then they declared that all peoples are equal.

Second. In real life, the able-bodied population from the former Soviet republics does not go to work because of a good life. The exchange rate of national currencies, the construction market and the demand for cheap labor attracts them. The lion's share of construction costs is work. And the less they cost, the more profitable it is for a contractor or just a private developer.

Visitors often do not have the proper qualifications, they do not know Russian well and take on any work in the field of construction - just to catch on here. Therefore, the low qualification of the work (the main points in the series), the language barrier (Dzhamshut does not understand the Russian language) - gave rise to this image of a migrant worker.

But not everyone is the same as in the series. In addition to the cost of the work, many hire teams of guest workers from Central Asia due to the speed of work. The brigades of our compatriots have a lot of rest, often smoke, or even go into a binge. Most migrant workers are not allowed by religion to have these bad habits.

Yes, they have no experience in construction, and even more so in the construction of complex technical units, they do not have any reading drawings. But simple work that they have done more than once will do it better and faster than other teams.

And since they set the cost of these works, our local builders no longer undertake such a price. If they do the front of the work, it is mainly with wood, complex installation, electrical and other communications. Where you need about engineering experience and knowledge. Or you have to do the work of a bricklayer in a way that no brigade of guest workers will do. Example: a team from the "Real Builder" channel on youtube (aerated concrete masonry masters).

Interestingly, in Europe, to the Ukrainians, Moldovans and other residents of Eastern Europe who come to work, is this also the attitude there? Is there an analogue of an unofficial image? Who lives in Europe and was related to construction sites - write in the comments.
