Floating terrace at the summer cottage Photo review

Suppose you have a suburban area with beds, a garden, a house - but there is no terrace, and most importantly, there is no place for it. But there is a pond adjacent to the site, which means there will be a floating terrace! Our user ShurickF has just finished working on such a design; spent 63,000 rubles and four days off.

Bottles or barrels?

At first there was an idea to make a terrace on bottles, but a month later Shurik refused it, and he still then he cringes at the thought that he planned to drink a ton of mineral water, and use the container for construction site. And he bought eight barrels of 200 liters each, painted them brown-brown - the color of the pond water.

And then: put together a frame; sawed lags; made posts and railings; assembled decking from decking; built a ladder; mounted fenders from old tires. The barrels were secured with mounting tape, which is used in rigging - if a ten-point storm suddenly occurs in the pond, the terrace will withstand it. I made a lighting system: main and onboard, and now in the dark the terrace looks like a quote from a romantic movie.

Will there be a canopy?

The family neatly hints to Shurik that it would be nice to make a canopy over the terrace, but so far he is against: with a canopy, the structure will lose its airiness; will become cumbersome. In winter, he will draw a project for an umbrella with fasteners on the central support, but for now, let the terrace live like this.

It is a pity that the pond is abandoned ...

The only thing that spoils all the beauty is the pond. It used to be crystal clear, but now the entire drainage system has been destroyed in SNT, and this is the result. But ShurickF has already agreed with a neighbor to order mechanical cleaning in a joint effort, it will not help - Kamaz will bring coagulant for water purification.
