Black chokeberry, or as it is more often called - black chokeberry, you can simply chokeberry, not very popular among gardeners. And in vain!


The benefits of this plant can be talked about endlessly. In addition, it is a rather unpretentious plant that is extremely rarely attacked by pests or the occurrence of diseases.


It is not the first year that a chokeberry tree has been growing in my dacha and I have never seen it hurt.


What is the use of chokeberry chokeberry?


Blackberry berries are rich in vitamins: C, A, B, P. And they are contained in fruits in very small quantities. In addition, berries are rich in iodine, magnesium and manganese.


Eating black chokeberry, you saturate the body with vitamins, lower high blood pressure, improve digestion, increase immunity, and cleanse the body of toxins. And this is only a small fraction of those benefits that the chokeberry can give us.


Even doctors recommend chokeberry berries for the prevention of atherosclerosis, rheumatism and hypertension. People suffering from thyroid diseases can restore the lack of iodine in the body with the help of chokeberry fruits.

Poor ecology has a detrimental effect on people's health, especially in big cities. So, black chokeberry effectively cleanses the body of accumulated toxins.


For people who want to lose weight, rowan fruits are simply irreplaceable: they suppress appetite.


There are, of course, contraindications to the use of this berry: black chokeberry promotes blood thickening, therefore, people suffering from bleeding disorders should not abuse and do not eat the berry in large quantity.


In addition to the fact that the fruits can be eaten raw, various dishes are prepared from the blackberry: jams, compotes, fruit drinks, baked goods, liqueur.


To preserve the berry for an extended period, it can be frozen. In this state, it almost does not lose its useful properties and taste.


Some housewives dry the berries and then add them to tea or cook compotes.
