How to change the electrical wiring in the ceiling slab

The renovation of the room did not go without replacing the wiring, including in the ceiling slab. Since this moment is not easy for everyone, it was on it that I decided to focus my attention.

I have seen many times how electricians use steel wire to pass the wire through the stove. If the house is new and the wiring is done from scratch, then this is necessary. But if we are talking about replacing wires, then the old wire stretched earlier will help to resolve the issue.

In my case, sticking out of the ceiling stub of aluminum wire 3-4 cm long.

1. After turning off the power to the entire system, he cut off the old shade, tapped the alabaster around the wire with a chisel in the hole, freeing it so that it could move back and forth freely.

2. Measured with a tape measure at what distance from the side edge of any plate the wire exits the ceilinga. But if the edges of the slabs are not visible, then you can measure from any wall from the side.

3. On a wall that runs across the slab and on which it lies (usually the wall opposite to the window), I measure the previously obtained distance from the same edge of the slab and mark the point where at the very top of the wall, more precisely

at the corner of the intersection of the wall and ceiling slab, you need to break through the plaster a little.

Usually in this place there is a hole in the stove, through which the wiring was brought into the stove.

4. Having found and slightly cleaned this entrance from the plaster, you need to try to find in the hole and pull a little on yourself the old wire going into the stove. I found several wires at once, more precisely 3, so I still needed to understand which one was powering the light bulb.

5. By moving the wires a little and observing at what moment the output to the light bulb, freed from alabaster, stirred, the lighting wire was found.

Since I was only interested in the lighting wire, I did not even touch the rest.

6. To the short stub sticking out of the slab on the ceiling securely tied a new wire with electrical tapeto be pulled through the slab.

7. In the corner where the lighting wire was found, I bite it with pliers and slowly start pulling the end that goes into the stove. Thus, pulling out the old wire, it turns out, together with it, to stretch the new wire wound to it inside.

And then he pulled as long as needed. In the same way, you can pull the wire from another hole, if convenient. I do it differently in different cases, according to the situation in general.
