Why is it very difficult to choose bathroom tiles according to your taste, despite the seemingly large selection?
We are building a house, and finally the turn has come to finishing the bathroom. We definitely decided to lay it out with tiles. Although it is cheaper, of course, to sheathe it with panels, but somehow we don't like it. Therefore, the choice of bathroom tiles has been a serious problem for us lately.
In large stores
When you just walk through the hypermarkets and see the huge halls in which there is a great variety of tile samples, it seems that the choice is huge. But when you come to these same rooms and start choosing something for yourself, it turns out that there is nothing to choose from.
Most of the specimens are somehow faded, sandy brown, evoking melancholy.
What is brighter is also not happy. Dolphins and violets are vulgar and in general - the last century.
Tile prices
The quality of the coatings leaves much to be desired, even on the samples and on the interior corners laid out by the designers, it is clear that the tiles have chips and cracks all around.
Although the prices cannot be called low. For example, the price tags from Leroy Merlin are a wholesale store, the tiles are so-so, and the prices are quite high.
We tried to choose the best value for money. But as a result, for several months this balance was not found.
In the end, in despair, I already thought, but not to repair the mirror wall, which I saw in one of the shops. But this, of course, is out of despair. Such joy, too, is nothing in a small bathroom.
We never made our choice
My husband and I more or less liked the Moroccan-style tiles, bright and colorful. But my family didn't agree with me, they don't like the deep blue color.
The daughter liked the interesting tile, which looks embossed, but in fact is smooth, covered with a layer of transparent enamel. But I don't want a white floor, so this option has disappeared too.
The son agrees to the color black, although I believe that he simply trolls everyone, he is tired of these eternal conversations.
This is how the search for tiles in our bathroom goes on, which has not been completed to this day.
