Than I am covering the ground in flower pots. It looks nice and Useful for flowers
Many of my neighbors do not plant flowers in the apartment due to the fact that they do not like how an earthen lump in a pot looks like. And also due to the fact that when watering and spraying, dirt appears on the windowsill, and splashes on the glasses.
I solved this issue by decorating the soil in a pot, and the material used not only serves as a decoration, but also benefits the plants themselves.
Sphagnum moss
I decorate my moisture-loving tropical flowers with moss. This component has several beneficial properties for room culture at once:
Good absorbency and return of moisture, I began to irrigate much less often, besides the risk of waterlogging and overdrying is reduced, since the moss absorbs excess water well, if necessary gives it away;
· The material perfectly permeates air, so my soil is always in good condition, it does not mold, and the roots of flowers do not rot;
· Bactericidal properties of moss protect my flowers from diseases.
The coating requires daily hydration. I just spray the moss. This decorative rug always looks fresh and neat.
Sawdust
Sawdust also helps me to hide the earth in a pot, I completely cover the ground in a flowerpot with them. The shavings are also useful for flowers, they contribute to the active growth and development of the plant, and they look very impressive.
I began to water the flowers less often, since the shavings do not allow moisture to evaporate. And the soil has ceased to form lumps and become crusty.
In addition, sawdust creates a nutrient medium for soil microflora, and this, in turn, has a beneficial effect on the culture itself, my plant has become thicker and larger.
Dry brewing
I never throw away used tea leaves as they can still be of use. Firstly, tea is a good fertilizer, it rotts and enriches the earth with nutrients: nitrogen and phosphorus.
Secondly, the leaves are used as mulch in flower pots. I just cover the soil with tea leaves and leave it that way.
It is important not to use granulated sugar, lemon or other additives when brewing, they can adversely affect the room culture.
All these coatings perform not only a decorative function for me, but also a useful one.
Tea leaves, sawdust and moss have a beneficial effect on the flowers themselves, improve their appearance, the bushes have become noticeably greener and more luxuriant. In addition, I significantly reduced the number of watering, one watering per week is enough for plants.
