Russia will have its own SpaceX, Roskosmos has agreed with a private company to build a reusable spacecraft
Not only the Americans will have their own private company engaged in space travel and the development of aircraft. The reusable spacecraft "Argo" will also be developed and built in Russia. Moreover, a private company will be engaged in the development.
Company success Spacex it is getting harder to ignore, and the prospect of a private space industry is becoming more evident.
So the Russian company "Reusable space transport systems" (abbreviated MTKS) stated that she was ready to start creating a completely new aircraft that meets all the requirements of environmental friendliness and demand.
It became known that the representatives of the company signed a corresponding contract with Roscosmos.
The agreement is designed for 5 years with the possibility of automatic renewal if one of the parties does not wish to terminate the agreement. And during this time, a new spacecraft must be built.
The main task of the spacecraft will be to deliver cargo to the ISS. At the same time, mainly composite materials and the latest developments will be used in the ship's structure.
This approach is intended to significantly reduce the cost of the spacecraft, because one of the tasks is to build a spacecraft cheaper than that of SpaceX.
According to the beneficiary of MTKS S. Sopov, work on the creation of the reusable ship "Argo" can be completed by 2024. And the production of four such devices can cost the company an approximate amount of 136 million euros.
Most likely, the Soyuz-2.16 rocket will act as the main carrier of the spacecraft (most likely only at the initial stages). And in the plans, launches can be carried out using a new methane carrier called Soyuz-LNG.
Also, according to the plan, the rocket should have a reversible first stage and fully meet the standards of the global rocket and space industry.
Well, whether Russia will have its own private space company with a real device is still an open question, but we will still find out everything, we just need to wait a little.
