The best winter dressing for indoor flowers. I tell you how to properly feed with Sugar
In winter, indoor plants become weak and lifeless. The color of the leaves begins to fade, and growth and flowering slows down. This is due to the fact that in the winter season, as a rule, daylight hours are shorter than in summer, and the sun's rays are inactive.
Houseplants do not absorb nutrients well due to the weak process of photosynthesis. Therefore, the plants need feeding.
Surprisingly, sugar helps to replenish energy reserves not only for humans, but also for plants. It can rightfully be called one of the most popular and effective fertilizers for home flowers. I was convinced of this by my own example.
The benefits of sugar lie in the chemical composition of the product. As a result of its decomposition, a useful component is released - glucose, which is the source of plant life. Also, glucose is a building material that is necessary for the production of organic molecules.
It is best to combine sugar feeding with baker's yeast, as this helps to increase the activity of microflora.
In order for the sugar dressing to benefit my plants, I fertilize the soil no more than once a month. At the same time, you cannot simply sprinkle the ground with granulated sugar, as this is fraught with the appearance of mold.
I prepare sugar dressing as follows:
In 0.5 liter of clean water at room temperature, I dilute 1 tablespoon of sugar and water the flowers at the root. By the way, you can also spray the plant leaves with a sugar solution.
The active ingredient in sugar is glucose, which can be used in its pure form. Glucose tablets are sold at the pharmacy. One tablet is diluted in 1 liter of water. If the plant begins to wilt, then glucose can be injected into the stem.
Remember that not all flowers take sugar well. The following plants respond positively to a sweet solution:
· Ficus;
· Cactus;
· The Rose;
· Indoor palm;
· Dracaena;
· Maranth.
Indications for the use of sugar feeding
Indoor plants need glucose feeding if:
· Growth slowed down;
· On the surface of the leaves, streaks and spots are observed;
· Previously bright leaves become faded;
· Scanty volume of deciduous mass;
· Fungus and mold appeared in the soil;
· The stem began to dry out.
Thus, feeding plants with sugar is an affordable and effective method that has a beneficial effect on the growth and development of domestic plants, and also enriches the soil with nutrients.
