It's always convenient. Sparks do not fly at you, the workpiece is fixed, there is no risk of the angle grinder jamming due to the fact that the workpiece suddenly moves in your hands. Whoever broke the disk during work - they know what it is about. If you cut metal often, then such a rack is simply irreplaceable.

Many do not have a welding machine and there is no way to weld such a structure. If you look, then many factory models of racks for angle grinders are not so expensive. I suggest looking at a few examples and understanding what to look for when choosing:

The first thing you need to pay attention to is for which disc diameter and size of angle grinder the stand is intended: 115, 125, 150, 180 mm. It is clear that you will not put a large angle grinder in such a compact design. The photo shows a stand for angle grinders with 115-125 mm discs.

The second is the possibility of cutting (setting the workpiece clamp) under 45 g. (or another degree). The presence of a scale in degrees is encouraged. If there are bolts for adjusting the vertical position of the grinder, that's great too. You can check the vertical with a small level, applying it to the disc. But before that, check the horizontal position of the base.

It is better if the frame (base) of the rack is cast iron, massive and heavy. This will give stability to the structure. Because the grinder is located at the top, then the center of gravity is shifted. And with the same heavy base - the rack will never tip over.

There should be additional spark protection. This will make the process as safe as possible. Anyway, in any case, you need to wear protective glasses.

And, perhaps, the most important element in the design is the quick clamping mechanism for workpieces. Shown is a quick-release mechanism with an eccentric. There is no need to twist the clamp like in a vice. It is good if the scale in degrees is also placed.

The average cost of racks for angle grinders is from 1500 to 2500 rubles. There is also higher, for grinders with a large disc up to 230 mm. There, the cost may be 5000 rubles. Perhaps it is more profitable to weld a large bed for a powerful angle grinder yourself. Who has a place (workshop) and another tool.

For example, it would be good if it would be possible to fix the angle grinder in the lower position and a stand to stop the workpieces. This would make it possible to grind and process parts like on a grinder or grinder. But I have never seen factory models in this design.
