Most ornamental plants do not show their full beauty if they receive little sun. But the plant I'm going to talk about now is a lovely exception to this rule.

When I first saw live a carpet made of decorative lungwort, I was delighted. Bright bouquets towered over the green leaves. It turned out that the heroine of today's publication has a lot of advantages in the role of a plant designed to decorate a garden:

Most of the ornamental varieties are low (20-40 cm) and grow rapidly. Already in the second or third year after planting, the bushes become lush living pillows and clouds. I saw it live and, I will say, it looks very cute.

Further more. Left unattended, the unpretentious lungwort will become a ground cover plant. Under which, because of the leaves and flowers, the earth is not visible. Ideal for those who want to decorate a nook behind a farm building, a tree trunk circle of old apple trees or any other shady corner in the garden.

The main feature of the lungwort is, of course, flowers. The plant changes the color of the petals from pink to purple. It pleasantly surprises and looks very gentle! It is especially interesting to watch a bush covered with pink and blue flowers at the same time.

Modern bred varieties are exposed by a variety of tones. Want bright blue flowers? Receive and sign. For lovers of tenderness - take snow-white varieties. Yes, they also exist!

The melodic name was given to the plant for a reason. The flower is said to be filled with fragrant and sweet nectar. I have not tried it and I do not advise you, comrade - we will take your word for it! And nectar certainly attracts pollinating insects. Having flown into the light, they will also increase the productivity of the garden and vegetable garden.

Decorative flower with weed requirements

The lungwort is the perfect flower for the lazy grower. Planted in the shade, it does not require any special maintenance. For which it is appreciated!

In the heat, when there is no rain for several days, it is better to water the lungwort. Although the soil hardly dries out in the shade, the sultry sun can be very tricky.

The lungwort grows well without feeding. Works with whatever soil is. But the flowering and growth of leaves will be more abundant if you feed it with a solution of "Nitroammofoski" in the spring: 20 g per 10 liters of water.

A beautiful plant blooms in a spring garden: April-May. And the rest of the year adorns the shady corner with chic leaves. I will definitely plant!
