Friends, hello everyone! Surely each of you has met builders in your life with an ideal eye, who, without unnecessary devices, will vertically set the fence post and saw off the required length of the board.

Of course, I'm exaggerating a little, but this happens quite often. Especially among the village children, who since childhood know a lot about the installation of log cabins and houses from a bar.

But the title of this article promises to show and prove that there is no faith in the construction tape. Promises have to be kept, so here's a video proof of my words:

What we have?

Three roulettes from the same manufacturer, with the hook end on the same level. But in fact, the readings differ: it is clearly visible already by 10 cm, and further - more - by 20 centimeters, the difference in readings is already 1-1.5 centimeters.

What can we say about the accuracy of measurements at lengths of 4-5 meters?

Therefore, if in one team builders work with different tape measures, this will not lead to anything good. The accuracy of measurements is disgusting, so the best solution is to just constantly throw the tape measure from the person who is measuring to the one who, for example, saws off. And back.
