Litmus paper helped reveal the secret of the soil
The acidity of the soil has always worried me. Once it seemed to me that I had found a normal measuring device, wrote about it here and here The opinion about him has changed, I'll write why.
I also dreamed of buying litmus paper to check the readings of the device. It seems to me the most reliable indicator. Finally I bought it!
Here is such happiness:
I did not see it on free sale, I bought it with phytolamps here On Aliexpress there, it was just convenient for me.
Inside:
Litmus paper was urgently needed! Because there was a fear, what if mine pre-prepared soil all the same soured? For example, one tomato (with mycorrhiza) came up crooked and bent.
Experience
First, I measured the acidity of the water. It turned out to be slightly alkaline. And the device showed 5.5! I lied. There is no more trust in him.
The whole experience looked like this:
1 sample - from a glass in which a tomato with mycorrhiza is bent, prepared soil Fasco and "Nurse mycorrhiza"
2 sample - the same fresh soil
3 sample - the second prepared soil based on Agricola
4 sample - clean soil "Agricola"
Separate water
And in each sample I added 10 ml of water with a syringe, stirred and left for 15 minutes
I dipped a new litmus paper into each sample:
And here's the result:
The bar on the left is water
It can be seen that unprepared Agricola from the package is the most acidic, more precisely, close to neutral, slightly acidic, and the rest of the samples are even slightly alkaline.
I put a slice of lemon in the water and immediately measured Ph, a strip at the bottom across it with lemon:
That is, the paper works well, the acid is clearly identified.
The soil turned out to be excellent.
Have you tried to measure the acidity of your soil with litmus paper?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
