Do-it-yourself vibrating screed from a grinder for smoothing concrete
When I poured the foundation slab, I did not think about high-quality smoothing of the concrete surface and the surface turned out to be uneven. For such cases, they use not just concrete trowels - they use vibrating screeds. There are both electric and gasoline. But their cost is too high for a single use at the facility.
The purchase of a vibrating screed is an option either for companies and teams who are engaged in the construction of foundations, or you need to rent such a tool.
But the vibrating screed can be assembled in 20 minutes by yourself and 10 times cheaper.
To do this, we purchase an aluminum rule 1.5-2 m long (second slide) - the price is from 300 rubles. And a vibration grinder (cost from 1,500 rubles). For example, an inexpensive DEKO DKS300 model:
Further, there are two options: if you are going to smooth out the concrete of the foundation or the concrete screed along the lighthouses, then the rule can be used vertically. Then, through the metal corners, we fasten the platform (piece of the board). And on it with the help of a perforated metal tape we fix the grinder.
You will need two simple door hinges. Through them we attach the handle to the vibrating screed (made in the form of the letter A or P). The handle can be made from bars or shanks for a shovel. We take out the power cord along the handle, fix it with plastic ties. That's it, the vibrating screed is ready.
For leveling the concrete surface on a slab foundation or on concrete paths, it is best to place the rule horizontally. And fix the grinder on it through 1-2 boards. You can even cheaper: buy a drywall profile and a wooden block. Screw the block into the profile, and fix the grinder on it.
Here the handle is without hinges - screwed on with self-tapping screws. To keep the tool clean, it is better to wrap the sander in polyethylene, leaving holes for air cooling.
Someone makes a vibrating screed with two rules:
But according to reviews, one is enough to level the screed along the beacons.
The assembly process of the vibrating screed is shown in a short video:
Aluminum is a soft metal and is erased with prolonged use of beacons. To enhance this advice: stick a metal corner on the foam.
Met some more advice. Instead of a sander, you can use a puncher. To do this, in the hammer mode, it is fixed on the handle and rests against the base through the crown. The vibration will be sufficient even to vibrate the concrete deep. And air will come out of it.
Well, and one more construction. Anyone who has a deep vibrator for concrete can assemble a similar structure:
We fix the mace of the flexible shaft to the base, and the engine to the handle. The photo shows the factory model for a screwdriver with a gearbox. If you have a drill, you can purchase a vibrator mace separately.
