One neighbor added sugar to the concrete! Other
There is so much information on the Internet that if you add sugar or salt to the cement mixture, then the solution will be super plastic, super strong, super frost-resistant! Is this true or fiction?
I am not against such methods at all! "Folk" additives are about the same as "folk" medicine, it may work for someone! But everyone else does not!
Read below about the chemistry and folk experience of using sugar and salt!
I just do not understand why "reinvent the wheel" if it has already been invented! There are standards to be followed! There are plasticizers that really affect the strength of cement - it's been tested and proven! And there is sugar and salt... What can they give us?
About sugar and cement!
From folk experience
The experiment was carried out repeatedly - when adding 250 grams of sugar per 50 kg to the solution. cement, the following happens: the mixture remains mobile after 10 hours! But on the 3rd day - the solution is pinched, on the 7th day - it is cut, on the 28th day the strength does not differ from the norm.
Sugar may not hurt, which is good! But it won't bring any obvious benefit either!Salt increases frost resistance!
I want to dispel this myth right away!
Of course, you can add salt, lemon, and tequila to the solution... But that's all.ki it is better to use all this separately from cement!
Salt will not do any good.. Salt will destroy everything!
Yes, adding salt will make it possible to work at low temperatures, but at the same time it will significantly reduce the strength of the concrete. And if you overdo it with such an "additive", then you can run into very unpleasant consequences. "Saline" concrete structures will "cry" and quickly collapse. And if metal reinforcement was used, the salt in the concrete will gradually corrode it.
Before using sugar and salt in solution, test these "folk" additives on a small amount. Make sure to do without them to create strong concrete structures! Use proven supplements!
