A new type of abrasive discs for grinders (angle grinder). Removes paint and rust better than a cord brush

Anyone who cleaned metal from old paint or rust, basically did it with a cord brush (wire disk). The cleaning process is not so fast and not even safe (broken wires fly off). It would seem that the only alternative to this process is sandblasting. Although, there is a special chemistry for removing old paint. I wrote about her here.

Not so long ago, grinding and scraping discs appeared, which outwardly resemble a foam rubber disc.

But the material is resilient and perfectly cleans paint and rust. The disc material is a composite of stainless steel plus nylon filament plus silicon carbide. It is not yet sold in all stores, and where it is, it is not yet so cheap. Therefore, a link to this product from China:

Size (outer and inner diameter) 100x16 mm and 125x22 mm. Disc thicknesses 14.2 mm and 16.5 mm. Two colors: black and purple. Link on aliexpress. One more size has been added here: 115x22 mm.

The abrasive disc material is glued to a solid base, similar in structure to a metal cutting disc.

The abrasive disc is also capable of removing old paint from wood surfaces. Due to its large-pore structure, it will not clog. According to the degree of wear, it is not eternal, it grinds on metal. Buyers pictures:
