When every detail has a special meaning! Or 4 tips for creating your dream kitchen
Are you dreaming of discovering a “recipe” for an impeccable, exemplary cuisine? Alas, I will disappoint you! It simply does not exist, because each person has his own idea of the ideal. Color palette, material, layout, style, etc. At the same time, there are several rules, observing which, anyone can approach an almost ideal kitchen!
Good afternoon dear friends!
Usually, when choosing kitchen furniture, household appliances or accessories used for cooking, people are guided only by the current situation. That is, the currently available budget, today's taste preferences (color, texture, style) and, of course, the size of the room. Completely forgetting that the kitchen is purchased not for 1 year or 5 years, but for 15-20 years. What does that mean? And the fact that arranging a kitchen is not an easy process that requires taking into account all the nuances and subtleties, up to the lifestyle, trajectory of movement and changes in needs over time. But completely doable!
And here in order to make it easier for you create your dream kitchen by correctly designing the space in it, I prepared this material.
1.Working triangle. Three elements dominate the kitchen - a sink, a stove and a refrigerator. So, ideally, there should be 2-3 steps between them, which cannot be achieved without placing them on the vertices of an imaginary triangle. At the same time, keep in mind that in a long narrow space, a triangle can turn almost into a "straight line", and in a large open kitchen with an island - into a quadrangle.
Also, do not forget to leave at least 90-100 cm of free space in front of the kitchen set and large household appliances. This will allow you to easily open cabinets and ovens, move freely around the kitchen, without stumbling or bending around furniture.
Also, in order to optimize space, you should not place the sink and hob deep in the corners of the room. Otherwise, you will have to stretch and bend far each time to wash the dishes or put the soup on the stove. Which is extremely short-sighted, as it will turn the cooking process into "hard labor".
2.Shelves, drawers, niches. As practice shows, there is never a lot of storage space. Therefore, think over in advance the various combinations of shelves, beggars and drawers. Only, choosing them, be guided by your preferences and needs, and not fashion trends. Although there are practical innovations: for example, drawers at the bottom or in the corner of the headset.
By the way, in order to avoid clutter in the boxes, which will appear sooner or later, it is best to equip them with dividers right away. This will allow you to determine in advance the place for food, dishes and facilitate their subsequent search.
A small kitchen requires a special approach! Here it is advisable to provide in advance for an additional retractable tabletop, sink and household appliances of a reduced size. And try to use small walls and spaces to the maximum and equip shelves for kitchen utensils.
3.Sophisticated worktop. A well-organized worktop can greatly simplify processes such as cutting, storing and cleaning. Therefore, when designing a kitchen, try to visually divide it into three parts: for cooking, for placing small household appliances (kettle, coffee maker or food processor) and places for hot pots (usually it is allocated next to stove). At the same time, free the countertop as much as possible, getting rid, for example, of the usual stand for knives, for spices, etc.
So you will model the work surface in the best possible way and then you will not waste your precious time on unnecessary body movements both during cooking and after!
4.Objective need and decor. To quickly determine the size of the refrigerator, the number of cabinets and shelves, ask yourself a couple of simple questions: “Do you buy products for future use or purchase a little every day? "," Do you plan to change the composition of the family? "," Do you want to buy a summer residence in a few years ", etc. The answers to these questions will be the starting point point! Which will help you understand how to properly organize the storage system in the kitchen. Perhaps now it is worthwhile to provide a place for baby bottles and sippy cups, for vegetables and preparations ...
Do not forget about the decorative side of the issue! For example, if you like to store bulk products, seasonings or grow herbs in colored containers, then why not provide an open modern shelf for them ahead of time. Both functional and aesthetically pleasing at the same time!
