We have collected the five most frequently asked questions about the corrugated board fence and asked the professional builder Dmitry to answer them. This information will be useful for beginners and will not overspend when buying material.

1. What is the thickness of the corrugated sheet required for the fence?

The optimum thickness of the profiled sheet for the fence is 0.5 mm. But the purchase of such a sheet is quite costly, and to save money, you can use a sheet with a thickness of 0.4 mm.

And also the size of the corrugation is important. It is indicated in the labeling of the sheet and is indicated by a Latin letter and a number. For example: C8, C20, C44. The best option for a fence is a profiled sheet with a C8 corrugation and a steel thickness of 0.4-0.5 mm.

2. Which pipe to use for the fence?

If we are talking about veins, then the best option is a profile pipe 20 * 40 mm with a wall thickness of 2 mm. Support pillars should be made from a professional pipe 60 * 60 mm with a wall thickness of 2 mm.

For standard gates made of corrugated board, a professional pipe of 80 * 80 mm with a wall thickness of 3 mm is required. If the gate is non-standard, it is necessary to use a profiled pipe 100 * 100 mm with a wall thickness of 4 mm.

A standard wicket made of profiled sheet can be hung on a profiled pipe 60 * 60 * 3 mm in size. If the design of the wicket does not fit into the standard dimensions, it is necessary to use a profiled pipe 80 * 80 * 3 mm.

3. How far should the fence posts be placed?

The support posts should be 2.5 meters apart. The distance is measured at the center of the posts. In regions with low wind load, this figure can be increased up to a distance of 3 meters.

4. At what level from the ground / foundation and from the top of the profiled sheet should horizontal logs be located?

Horizontal joists should be attached to the support post at a distance of 20-25 centimeters from both sides. This distance will be quite enough.

5. How much clearance should be left between the bottom of the fence and the foundation / ground?

Wherever your corrugated fence is standing, the gap between the ground or the foundation tape should be 50 mm. This is done so that the profiled sheet does not come into contact with water during rains. If there is no gap, then water will accumulate on the foundation or the ground, which will lead to corrosion of the profiled sheet.

What kind of professional sheet did you use for the fence? Write down the thickness, the size of the corrugation and how the sheet has shown itself during operation.
