Why did I paint the walls and workbench in the workshop gray
Why did I choose gray for the walls in the workshop, and not white or say green. There are several reasons for this.
In my workshop I take a lot of photos and videos, and until recently, all this was done against the background of unpainted light brown walls. This color is very close to the natural colors of wood, skin tones, so the expressiveness of wood products is lost against such a background. But on a gray background, the tree looks more expressive.
Look at the photo below for comparison.
Against a background similar in color, the wooden product merges with the background and looks dull.
Against a gray background, all attention is already paid to the product itself.
Why gray
In fact, you can choose other colors for the background as well. To do this, you can focus on the color wheel. (this is the same Rainbow placed in a circle)
Since the color of the tree falls into the sectors from red to yellow on the color wheel, then for it, as contrasting colors located on the opposite side of the color wheel - blue, cyan, purple. You can also use the colors in the triangle pattern - green or purple.
There are also neutral colors such as white, gray, and black. Against their background, wood products also look expressive.
The choice of background color to expressively represent wood products, as you can see, is quite large.
I decided to stick with neutral colors and chose gray as the background.
He refused the white one, because it is too easily soiled, and the black one is too gloomy.
And the gray color does not bother, does not distract and allows you to focus on work.
In addition, it is convenient to adjust the camera's color rendition by gray color when shooting photos and videos.
I mixed the gray paint myself, for this I used white acrylic enamel and black color scheme. The result is not a perfectly gray color, but with a slight shade of blue. But this is even good, because blue is a contrasting color for shades of wood.
