In a hole dug under an apple tree in the garden, I found my mother's thing

In the last days before the frost, we dug holes for planting fruit trees in the spring - apple and pear. They were made quite voluminous, about 70 centimeters deep. Iron nails and rusty pieces of metal were placed on the bottom. This is what my mother always did so that the plants had enough iron. They piled humus, and on top - a layer of fertile soil. And they left it in this form before winter in order to plant young seedlings in the spring. Of course, we will also add fertilizers and ash.

But this work had to be interrupted for some time, because I could not calm down for a long time after one find, it turned out to be so touching. I'll tell you in order.

My mother was a great gardener. We have always had huge harvests of vegetables, there was enough of everything in excess. And the garden was also famous for berries and fruits.

One currant bush, very old, has been growing for 25 years in the same place where my mother planted it, but still bears fruit. Of course, I cut it out all the time. But the time has come to remove it, next to it, just a place for a pear tree was planned. And so, when this bush was being removed, I noticed something strange in its roots, some kind of rings. I cleared it off the ground and it turned out to be small steel scissors.

I immediately remembered this case, when my mother was looking for her scissors for a long time, they cut off the stepsons from the tomatoes in the greenhouse. They were garden scissors that were always in the pocket of her dress. After all, you never know what needs to be pruned in the garden and vegetable garden, and she always had a tool with her.

It turns out that she was planting currants and at that moment dropped them into the pit. They lay there for almost 25 years, just now, in these difficult days, to fall into my hands. Mom kind of told me - don't worry, hold on. Everything will pass, everything will be fine, the world will cope with this pandemic and life will return to its normal course, again there will be freedom, the opportunity to travel and communicate with loved ones. It was as if I heard her voice, which I almost forgot for 23 years, as my mother is not with us. Tears flowed from their own eyes. But they were not bitter, they were cleansing tears. It is very important to receive such support from someone who truly loves and cares for you, even when you are unattainably far away.

But imagine the quality of the metal of the Soviet era, if the scissors, lying in the soil for 25 years, remained completely unharmed. You just have to clean them and you can use them again.

Of course, I have a lot of every new tool that I use in the garden and in the greenhouse. But, of course, I’ll put my mother's scissors in order.

The main thing that I wanted to say by this is that everything in the world happens not according to the way we want it, but because it is best for us. If, by the standards of earthly life, something seems to us unfair, bitter, painful in relation to ourselves, then the best way to endure such things is humility and faith. And if you torture yourself with questions "Why", that you can go either into madness or into disbelief. What's worse, I don't know.

These are the thoughts that a find in the garden planted by my parents over 25 years ago aroused in me.
