An ordinary syngonium will become a beautiful indoor plant if the grower follows the 4 rules of care
Do you want to turn an unsightly vine into a gorgeous home flower? Then a fiery fireworks, comrade indoor florist! Today on the agenda - 4 banal, but very effective rules for caring for the syngonium.
No, this is not a boring flower! This is a plant with great potential. Unpretentiousness to care - attached.
Recently, I, a lover of annoying administrative workers and officials with idle chatter, distracting them from their work and thereby delaying the queue, visited the local MFC. Looking around the room in search of an object for another monologue, I saw an extremely ugly syngonium.
A long vine with small leaves stretched out of a pot on the cupboard. There was not even a trace of the bright color on them. It seems that all the care of the MFC-shny syngonium was formed in watering on occasion and pulling the laundry line. Along which the poor fellow was crawling, trying to swing his rudiments of aerial roots somewhere closer to the light.
Rule # 1: Don't let the syngonium drag on
Comrade! The syngonium itself is not in the least interested in being magnificent. Forming an attractive bush of greenery becomes entirely your responsibility..
- Plant 1 pot of 3-4 cuttings. Together they will create a decorative illusion of beauty.
- As soon as you noticed that the syngonium imagines itself as a vine, cut off the top. New shoots will sprout from the lower dormant growth points.
- If the syngonium is very old and hopeless, do not regret it and renew it. He will not become more beautiful by himself anyway. Trim for a tree stump like you trim geraniums. Or root the tops and... start over.
Syngonium is incredibly tenacious. It takes root in everything that savvy citizens have to offer. In water, vermiculite, perlite, moss and even soil from the garden.
Rule # 2: Put in the Light
The joyful fact that the syngonium does not perish in the depths of the room delights careless flower growers immensely. They are sure: "Alive means shade-loving."
Far from it! Syngonium is a light-loving plant. Only when they receive normal light do they quickly grow and bush. And, most importantly, a unique pattern of bright colors begins to play on their leaves.
Note to a friend: Newfangled varieties with red and pink shades in color especially need bright lighting
The only taboo is direct sunlight, which burns the leaves on summer days.
Rule # 3: Watch Your Moisture
Syngonium, receiving enough moisture from you, will constantly release fresh leaves. But don't overflow! However, as well as not dry.
If you have already poured plants a couple of times - play it safe and take a pot with holes at the bottom. If you are a master of watering, plant in a deaf container, in which the absence of drainage holes will guarantee constant moisture, which the syngonium loves so much.
Rule # 4: Feed Regularly
There is nothing better for syngonium than mineral dressing "For deciduous indoor plants". The bottle contains nitrogen, which is so important for the beauty of the leaves, and phosphorus and potassium, which are necessary for the health of any plant as a whole. Trace elements will also be found ...
2-3 times during the warm season (spring-summer), feed young syngoniums with calcium nitrate. It will give an explosive start for new growth, and your plant will grow even more.
